Activities to share with your dog for the holidays

In addition to accommodation with pets allowed, the Languedoc-Roussillon region is full of activities to do with your dog. There are many hikes, more or less long, to be done in all seasons. They will offer you breathtaking views, and your dog will be the happiest in the world to be able to frolic in the middle of nature, far from the population!

For example, you can explore the Gorges d'Héric by the Sentier des Gardes (good plan from Aurélie), or take the Hike to the Peak of Tarbesou that “Miss Balto” shared with us on the site to enjoy the panorama of Ariège, Aude and Pyrénées-Orientales. Find all the others good plans for walks on the site, and don't hesitate to share yours along the way 🙂 .

For those who prefer to share nautical activities with their dog, you can, for example, go pedalo at Canet du Roussillon on the Mediterranean sea. Try it canoeing  with your dog in the Gorges of the Hérault: it's a day that promises to be stunning! For all water activities, I advise you to equip your dog with a life jacket (to find out more about this equipment, read or re-read the thematic article). I tested the cyclerail du Larzac with Musher: the landscapes are very nice! The first few minutes were a little stressful for her and then she enjoyed the moment. In the village of Saint Eulalie de Cernon, we ended the day by visiting the commandery of the templars.

I share with you two last good plans for your holidays: the visit of the Mount Ramus Mill where you will be explained everything about the production of olive oil and the visit of the Noilly Prat cellars in Marseillan, the opportunity for a good tasting. Of course, your dog is welcome in both places.

In a future article, I will tell you about other magical places in Languedoc such as the Camargue, Nimes, the Canal du Midi, the Etang de Thau, the Gorges du Tarn...

Obviously, find out before embarking on this type of activity to know all the details and be sure that it is well suited to your dog.

After all these efforts you can go and enjoy a beautiful sunset by the sea, your dog will take the opportunity to take a last swim, maybe you too! Be careful, in the middle of summer there are only certain dog-friendly beaches in Languedoc Roussillon, check here to take your dog to the right beach :). Do not hesitate to read our advices for a successful beach stroll !
