This month I have decided to tell you about a destination that many people dream of: the Corsica! This island has not been dubbed the island of beauty by chance! Mountains and valleys as far as the eye can see, creeks with a transparent sea, good charcuterie and cheese for the finest gourmets, all this under a magnificent sun, it's a dream, isn't it?

This island with its strong identity will charm you with its rich heritage from its history. Let yourself be surprised by the Genoese towers that you can discover during walks on the coastal paths. They are majestic.

It is the paradise of the Men but also of the dogs: the Corsica is a dog-friendly territory that welcomes your favorite animals with open arms, right from the ferry crossing if you go with Corsica ferries. On their site, there is also a page specially dedicated to your dog's journey aboard Corsica Ferries.

Lucky, golden retriever, has just spent a Wouafement Bien holiday in Corsica with Camille. Thanks to them, we present accommodation and activities to test in Corsica with your dog.

Cross the island to explore the west coast with a stop at Sagone which is located in the town of Vico! There you will find the magnificent Sagone beach where Lucky was able to enjoy daily swimming because dogs are allowed on the parts which are not supervised. Lucky played lifeguard with Camille but also tons of other games.

Activities to do with your dog in Corsica

Here are some ideas for Wouafement Bien activities where your doggie can follow you to also enjoy the holidays.

You pass by Ajaccio and you want to make an atypical visit? Explore the park At Cupalatta (which means turtle in Corsican)! On more than 2 hectares live nearly 3000 land and water turtles from all over the world. Something to amaze the whole family, including the dog!

To explore the Corsican coast what better than to do it kayak or even in paddle ? The UCPA-based located on the beach of Sagone, accepts that you come and test this Too W'ouf experience with your doggie! Camille surprised Lucky to bring her with her for these two activities and she loved it! Do not hesitate to read or re-read our advice to get started with cani-paddle in our article dedicated to this nautical activity!

A historical visit? True symbols on the island, the Genoese towers (although they are not always original) line the Corsican coasts. These towers date from the Republic of Genoa and it is possible to visit them, in particular that of Campomoro for only a few euros and doggie can also be part of it. Located on the edge of the coast, you can take the opportunity to take beautiful walks and come across small coves to refresh yourself.

Speaking of refreshment, you can swim in the unsupervised areas of Sagone beach and for foodies stop at Pierre Gerronimi ice cream parlor (ice cream chef) who not only makes very good ice cream but is also dog-friendly. No ice cream unfortunately for Lucky (for his greatest dismay) but a bowl was brought to him! Corsica will also be an opportunity to make beautiful hikes because there are a lot of trails like the famous GR20 which requires rigorous preparation beforehand. If this adventure interests you, I advise you to read or re-read the interview with Thomas, Laura and their two huskies who prepared the GR20 this year as well as the story of their journey. You also have much more accessible routes like the transversal shepherds’ paths! Between sea and mountains, it is the ideal compromise for exploring the magnificent Corsican territory!

boutique emmenetonchien.com - musher and sophie's favorites

I hope to have made you want to go to Corsica. For my part, I have already spent a few days there and it was magical. At the time I didn't yet have Musher but I'm sure she would love the natural pools of Solenzara in the Bavella region in the heart of the Corsican mountains. As well as the Aïtone forest for a hike in the shade of the larici pines, the most beautiful in Corsica.

For those who want to discover Lucky and Camille, I suggest you read their portrait Wouafement Bien. And you will discover that Lucky is not the only dog in the family…
