Visit of Fleckenstein Castle

:

your dog is welcome here

Fleckenstein Castle is an imposing ruin in the foothills of the Northern Vosges. Built in the 6th century by the Hohenstauffen emperors, the fortress remained occupied for nearly 3 centuries, enlarged and embellished by the Fleckenstein family. Its interest lies partly in its site on an impressive sandstone table, partly in its layout mixing troglodyte rooms and staircases and stone building. Explanatory panels in three languages. The visit is either free (but paying) or guided, as desired. It can be combined with one or two activities (the "Château des challenges" - duration 1 H including visit of the château - and/or "Le Petit Fleck" - duration 10 H - playful discovery of the natural environment of the Northern Vosges) to do with family. Your dog will be able to participate without any problem in the visit of the castle and the course of the "Château des challenges". If it is a large dog, it is advisable to announce it to the cash register so that one opens an access to you outside gate. On the other hand, the "Little Fleck" is reserved for humans! Not a big deal if you come with your family: one of the adults can enjoy the bar outside or inside the reception while waiting for the rest of the family to return: it is accessible to dogs (just like the restaurant and covered picnic sites)! We were accompanied by our female dog Capsule (Breton spaniel - approx. XNUMX kg) ... and our grandson. The reception was considerate, without particular attention but without any reluctance. Dogs must be kept on a leash. It's up to the owner to provide water and sachets for hygiene... but what could be more normal?
