Ecomuseum of the Forges

:

your dog is welcome here

I have a 15 kg female dog without a determined breed. I am a big fan of museums and visits, which is often incompatible with having a dog. I was therefore pleasantly surprised to be able to visit this small museum which accepts dogs on a leash.

The ecomuseum of the forges is a small, unpretentious museum with a very rich content on the industrial forges created in Inzinzac-Lochrist near Lorient in 1860. It really allows you to understand the history of this region. There are many period tools, photographs and it traces the social history of the peasants who came from the Breton countryside to work in these factories.

They also show two very interesting little films there. I spent about 1h30 in this museum. Circulation with the dog is easy there, even if there are some large stairs which may not be very practical with very large dogs. It is also very easy to park. In addition, you can take a nice walk along the Blavet (river) with your doggie before or after visiting the museum. Small defect, the museum is not very well indicated.

For those interested, it is located in Inzinzac-Lochrist (near Hennebont, Morbihan) just after the small town center of Lochrist, going towards the industrial zone, along the Blavet. Please note that the ecomuseum closes for part of the winter. What to spend a beautiful half-day both W'ouf and cultural !!
