Castle of Montfort sur Risle
Montfort-sur-Risle - Eure

Between Brionne and Pont-Audemer, this stone sentinel has dominated the village of Montfort for a long time, almost 1000 years.

The ruins of this Anglo-Norman castle offer a magnificent view of the Risle valley in EURE. Place of many feats of arms during the period of the Duchy of Normandy, the castle was destroyed by Jean Sans Terre in the year 1204.

Today, this majestic site is the subject of projects that highlight this heritage of the department. Signage with QR codes lets you know everything about the history of the site.
