The Eau d'Heure lakes in Froidchapelle

Great weekend in Wallonia, Belgium, in the region of the Eau d'Heure lakes in Froidchapelle, 1h30 from Lille, 2h30 from Metz or 3h from Paris.

OLIVER, our 15-month-old cocker spaniel accompanied us for an extra 15 euros, in the Best Western Hotel.

The very friendly welcome we had not warned the presence of Oliver it was no problem. The room at the top with balcony, haman and view of the lake and a walking path begins at the foot of the Hotel. Ideal to come with a well educated dog. You can also take it to the breakfast room.

Unfortunately for us the climate didn't work for us but that didn't stop Oliver for walks.. and then a quick hair dryer in the bedroom before going to bed and the matter was settled 😉

The next morning, the climate really not to our advantage did not allow us to canoe on the lake with our Oliver as we had planned but it will be an opportunity for us to come back. So we fell back on an indoor activity, visiting the Brasserie des Fagnes in Couvin, 20 minutes from the lake, dogs are welcome there! What a pleasure to be welcomed as well with Oliver, visit of the brewery, we discussed beer and doggie before having a drink and finally eating in the restaurant on site where luckily there was still a table. Oliver gnawed his Bone under the table during our meal.

In the afternoon the climate improved, we had planned to visit the steam railways in Couvin (dogs allowed) but finally we opted for a walk in the streets of Dinant. Magnificent city and great walk along the Meuse for Oliver, always exemplary and more and more adventurous! We left at random on a whim and one thing is for sure .. we will come back to this region where 4-legged friends are welcome!

There are still many places where our friends are accepted in Wallonia and the Belgians are very welcoming.
