Gite Cournau - La Curette

:

your dog is welcome here

We spent an exceptional week of vacation in the cottage of Bertrand, a lover of his country.

We were there as a family with our two children aged 9 and 6 and two of our dogs (the youngest and sporty) for a holiday under the sign of nature with canirando and canicross on the program.

Bertrand accepts dogs in his cottage with great pleasure, he loves the dogs who accompanied him especially in his youth on the site of this cottage built by his parents. The land is not fenced in an impassable way but given its location the dogs can go for a walk they will not disturb anyone.

A 4km winding track provides access to this little paradise and only to this paradise.

Sometimes Bertrand puts his donkeys in the meadow behind the house.

Our dogs are medium sized between 17 and 24 kg; a Border x Boxer, Vega (who well deserved her vacation since she works all week with me as a "dog nurse" in a psychiatric hospital) and a Portuguese Braque X Pointer Mojo 16 months. My dogs spent a week in total freedom. We worked on confidence with Mojo who didn't have a good recall, being too carried away by his sense of smell. These vacations were a revelation for our trust in him and strengthened our bond.

Their little pleasure was to listen and observe the activity of the Village of Aydius over which we have a wonderful view. I admit it was also our little pleasure thanks to two small terraces offering a breathtaking view.

In Aydius dogs are very well accepted, they roam free, especially two regulars of the village who usually welcome customers of the Auberge des Izards.

There is no shortage of hikes starting from Aydius and are accessible with our animals because they are outside the protected areas of the Pyrenees National Park. Sometimes they stayed at the cottage, the time we did activities with our children (bear park, visit of the Gorges de Kakuetta accessible to the dog but we privileged the safety of the children on this one).

Lovers of nature, wide open spaces, sites preserved from any massive tourist activity, this gite and these holidays are for you.

Little more; the goatherds downstairs always ready to show you their work and their magnificent production.
