This month for the “region” article, I decided to tell you about Brittany. A Wow Good destination to spend a nice holiday with your dog! And I know what I'm talking about, I lived there for 4 years and I'm a big lover of Brittany!
Brittany is not just cider and galettes that all gourmets love! It is also a rich heritage and breathtaking landscapes. There is something for everyone, by the sea or in the heart of Brittany. For those who are still a little hesitant, I am going to make you want to visit this territory full of activities and stories! Before going further, I want to break an old myth that sticks unfairly to the skin: it does not rain more in Brittany than elsewhere!

Activities to share with your dog for the holidays
Brittany is famous for surfing, Stand up Paddle, windsurfing and all other water sports. Well know that you can practice all these sports with your dog! Of course, it takes a little practice, but if your dog likes water, he will enjoy it. Rent a board and go enjoy the water with him or even a canoe to see the coast from another point of view! I still advise you to equip your dog with a dog life jacket.
I know the Quiberon peninsula well, it is there that Musher tested surf for the first time. She is originally from Brittany, in Brittany she is in her element! I love the wild coast of the peninsula, whatever the weather, the changing colors always offer a beautiful spectacle. Only downside, dogs must be kept on a leash on the coastal path.
On the sea side, if you have sea legs, jump in a boat and discover the Breton islands. My favorite is Ouessant: 100% wild! We tested camping with Musher there. Musher was a little impressed to get on a boat; she doesn't like to walk on steel… and as she is dizzy, I had to carry her to use the gangway to board, but crossing went very well. As a general rule, dogs are accepted on board the shuttles, this is also the case for the crossing to Bréhat (a good plan of Pires). A magical island too.

Aside from water sports and cultural places, “green” Brittany offers you superb landscapes and hikes to discover as a family with your dog. Whether you are a fan of cycling or walking, you will be spoiled for choice! I recommend the Brocéliande forest. To take full advantage of the magic of these places, book a storytelling tour at the tourist office and follow in the footsteps of Merlin the enchanter, the fairy Viviane and all the forest trolls. Without a narrated visit, a forest is a forest! Your dog will appreciate the miles of ride it offers! Take advantage of being there to visit Brocéliande Gardens, if you have kids they will love this place. Your dog will be welcome on a leash. A desire for cycling, follow the Canal from Nantes to Brest. Consider renting a bike trailer, because your companion will not be able to follow you beyond a few kilometers depending on his physical condition.
As you will have understood, Brittany is full of hiking trails that cross it from North to South or from East to West. It's kind of the ideal place to enjoy beautiful landscapes with your dog and to spend a Wow Well holiday in the middle of nature or by the sea!
