Gorges of Holzarte

It's a 14km hike that lasts between 4 to 6 hours, so you have to plan a good supply of water and a picnic.

We start at the Auberge Logibar in Larrau. The start is steep, I advise you to really take the time to climb up to the footbridge so as not to get tired from the start.

The footbridge culminates at 100m above the gorges. The rest of the hike bypasses the Gorges. There are many waterholes where dogs can bathe.

Just as the start is steep, so is the descent. I advise to be equipped with good hiking shoes.

We did it as part of a canirando with 4 dogs present: a Husky, two Australian Shepherds and a Cocker Spaniel (mine, Elwin). The 4 dogs followed perfectly, be careful on the descents to hold the dog well so as not to fall.
