Discover the replay of the workshop presented at the National E-tourism Meetings of Pau – October 2023.

Sum tourism, the tourist offices of Haut-Bugey and Millau Grands Causses have engaged in an innovative approach to:

  • meet the expectations of the 18 million French people who have a dog and who now want their ENTIRE two- or four-legged family to be as well received as they are at their vacation destination!

  • to support their socio-professionals full of questions and fears about this little-known market yet the promise of direct reservations and loyal customers (like their dog!).

These 3 destinations have come together to provide you with their feedback and the first results of their work. Increase in the number of visitors, increase in reservations, new communication opportunities… 

Our partner destinations

Since 2020, we have been supporting destinations in their dog-friendly positioning. 

Here are some examples of results obtained by our partners! We have adapted to each need and budget to build a tailor-made support offer.

The very first tourist office in France to be labeled DESTINATION QUALIDOG in 2023!! 

When the support started, everything had to be done and in 2023, it is now:

In 2023: 

  • 140 offers available including 40 accommodations labeled QUALIDOG and grouped in a dedicated Sum page, qualified supply and sources of income for socio-pros
  • un complete travel guide on the Somme published on the platform
  • 10 articles available in the Mag' to present the entire offer of the destination
  • more than 50 total page views on the site in one year

At the start of the support: an offer checked “pets accepted” in the SIT and not valued by the destination and 3 accommodations labeled QUALIDOG on the destination

In 2023: 

  • a training-survey sent to 3000 socio-pros to identify and qualify the dog-friendly offer on the territory
  • 99 QUALIDOG-labeled accommodations throughout the region
  • 12 items available on Normandy Tourism to present all the offer of the destination
  • + 86 searches for a stay in Normandy on TakeTonDog.com since the launch of the “Take Your Dog to Normandy” Partnership
