Red train of Cathar Country and Fenouillèdes

The Train du Pays Cathare et du Fenouillèdes is a tourist train that runs between the stations of Rivesaltes (66) and Axat (11). The train makes several stops during which we can get off, ideal for dogs who can stretch their legs and for us who can visit pretty places...

We chose to take the grand tour: Rivesaltes - Axat with a change of train (2h40 journey).

The ticket is free for dogs. Small dogs are allowed on the lap and larger ones like ours will sit between your legs. Our guide placed us on the train according to the number of participants and he also kindly took our animals into account 😉 A nice walk to do with the family! 

In Axat, we were able to take advantage of the village and we settled down on the banks of the Aude for a picnic. My dog ​​was able to take a dip in the rapids (be careful with canoeing, rafting in season, your dog must have a good recall or be on a leash).
