the itinerary in detail: day by day
Unforgettable family vacations with your dog
In the heart of the island of Oléron, the Campsite Siblu Sea and Sun of Oléron welcomes you for a vacation with your dog. At the campsite, your dog will be able to follow everywhere! Restaurant, bar, games, pétanque... it has access to everything except the swimming pool, of course.
If you are traveling out of season, be aware that most beaches on the island are dog friendly. In the middle of summer, contact the tourist office to find out exactly which beaches or areas are allowed for dogs. The Oléron Marennes tourist office told us that Ecuissière beach is a beach authorized for dogs all year round on the island of Oléron.
All the activities offered in this itinerary are planned for your children and your dog, but if your children prefer to stay with their friends: the campsite's children's club will be very nice to them!
Bonus: the route is not specially designed for cats but know that the campsite happily accepts them.
Day 1 - Exploration of the island of Oléron northeast coast
To start this week of family vacation with your dog at the Siblu Mer et Soleil campsite in Oléron, here is a first day full of fun.
To get started:
- family canoe, kayak or paddle session with your dog. Lboat rentals for a unique exploration of the island from the sea at On an island

Day 2 - Excursion to the Island of Aix from Boyardville
For this second day, I suggest a family getaway to the Île d'Aix, located just off the coast of Boyardville with your dog.
Two possibilities for crossing to the island of Aix:
- Catamaran crossing (don't forget to specify the presence of your dog when booking). Boarding in the morning on the island of Oléron, in Boyardville. You come close to Fort Boyard and head towards the island of Aix. One-hour commented crossing. Children are invited to participate in boat maneuvers.
- By boat with the Interîles company. 30 minutes crossing.

Visit map of the Island of Aix to plan your route.

For this third day, I suggest a getaway to La Rochelle, a historic town located just 1 hour 20 minutes from the campsite. It's worth the trip!
On the way :
- on a cruise from Rochefort (trade wind cruises): discovery of Fouras and its squares and Fort Boyard. Good news: boat trips are dog-friendly, so your faithful companion will be able to accompany you throughout this aquatic adventure.
For the lunch :
- Meet next to the towers of La Rochelle, where you can choose between La Boussole or Iséo, two dog-friendly restaurants that warmly welcome friendly dogs.
