Seize the opportunity to visit a historical and cultural site with your dog! To the Doullens Citadel, no need to leave it at home: here it is welcomed with pleasure. 

🐶 Small or big, one or more : all dogs are accepted, with no limit on size or number.
🐕‍🦺 Dogs categorized 2 allowed, if they are muzzled and kept on a leash. The owner must comply with the legislation concerning this type of dog.
💧 A bowl of fresh water awaits your faithful companion at the entrance.
🌳 Your dog is the welcome everywhere in the enclosure, except during immersive guided tours of the counter-mine galleries (not underground), organized only on certain dates and by reservation!
😇Please keep your dog on a leash and pick up any 'little souvenirs' to keep the site pleasant for everyone.

Built under François I, this large fortified site de 33 hectares : transports you through five centuries of human adventures : royal prison, military hospital, internment camp, blockhouse… here, every stone has something to tell!

  • The immersive sound walk 🧠🎧: 1h30 of moving stories, testimonies from prisoners, nurses and soldiers. To be experienced with headphones on, along the ramparts and in the heart of the citadel!
  • Guided tour of the counter-mine galleries 🔦: an astonishing underground journey, by flashlight, in secret galleries worthy of an adventure novel.
  • Festive events 🎉: historical reenactments in June, art festival in September, plant festival in spring… There’s always a good reason to come back!

📆The citadel is open to visitors from Wednesday to Sunday, from April to November: Weekdays from 10:30 a.m. to 16:30 p.m. - Weekends, public holidays and during school holidays in zone B from 10:30 a.m. to 18 p.m.
