Guédelon Castle: your dog is welcome here

Guédelon is a fortified castle to visit in Puisaye, in Yonne, in Burgundy!

Guédelon is the crazy story of enthusiasts who decided to build a medieval castle using only the tools and techniques of the time. It is therefore the visit of a vast medieval site, in a beautiful forest, and a stone quarry. With passionate and exciting craftsmen. Dogs are allowed on the tour around and in the castle. They must be leashed, but some of the larger areas allow the use of a lanyard. I visited this castle in Yonne accompanied by my dog Litsuki, a 2-year-old female Shiba Inu.

Animals roam freely on the site, others in enclosures (pigs, sheep, geese, dogs…) Dogs are not at all frowned upon, and the visit is very pleasant for them too, the site being really in the forest, it also offers them a great walk.

Remember to have a bowl and water, the visit is quite long. The guided tour is great and worth the detour and almost essential not to miss all the treasures of this place!
