Chardonnay - Saone-et-Loire
Welcome to the Chateau Chardonnay, located in the village of the same name, in the heart of Burgundy. This family estate, rich in traditions and history, invites you to immerse yourself in the world of Burgundy viticulture🍇
🏰The castle, built in the 15th century, has spanned the ages and is a witness to the grape harvests from the monks of Cluny to today's winegrowers. Formerly the village tinailler, the castle housed the presses where the inhabitants came to vinify their harvests. Passed down from generation to generation since 1902 by the Bretin family, it now combines its century-old walls and traditions with modern equipment, mixing respect for heritage and quest for excellence 💫
🌱 Spreading over the clay-limestone soils of Chardonnay and the sandy hillsides of Bray, the domain expresses all the richness of the north of Mâconnais. These terroirs give the wines a freshness, minerality and unique aromatic notes, whether white flowers or citrus fruits.
🍃The philosophy of the estate represents sustainable viticulture which relies on the use of natural yeasts, traditional winemaking, and aging in stainless steel vats or oak barrels to offer high quality wines. Everything is done to reveal the aromatic potential of the 4 emblematic grape varieties of Château Chardonnay:
- Chardonnay, which flourishes in its native land.
- Pinot Noir, king of the Burgundies.
- Gamay, with an irresistible fruitiness.
- Aligoté, full of freshness and character.
Come and discover a place where history, terroir and conviviality meet. Château Chardonnay is the very essence of Burgundy in a glass🍷✨
