Gîte Le Vieux Café: your dog is welcome here
To accommodate your dog, we provide you with a box of dog toys to use during your stay.
We also have poop bags, a water bowl and towels.
We have a few rules that we expect customers to follow:
1. We provide outdoor bins and plastic bags for your dog's droppings.
2. We prefer that the dog is not left alone in the gite. To prevent him from getting bored and making mistakes, avoid leaving him alone.
3. We invite you to use the equipment and household products available to leave the place clean before your departure
4. Dogs are allowed to sit on the leather sofas provided they put a blanket
5. Beds are for owners, not dogs
6. Please note that we live on site and have cats, so if your dogs don't like cats, be careful!
7. The gite is located in the countryside so there will be wild birds, cattle, horses and other wildlife – plus hunters at certain times of the year.

Welcome to the warm gîte Le Vieux Café, a comfortable retreat nestled in an adorable village near Luçon, on the edge of the Marais Poitevin Regional Park. With four stars, our gîte offers you a breathtaking view of a natural valley and its wetlands.
Open all year round, our gîte is equipped to guarantee you a relaxing holiday. Relax in our spacious living room equipped with a TV, DVD player and Wi-Fi access. The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven, ceramic hob, washing machine and dishwasher. The large dining table can accommodate up to ten guests, perfect for group stays with our other holiday home, L'Ecurie.
Our three bedrooms are thoughtfully furnished to meet your needs, whether you require a double bed (160cm x 200cm), single beds, or even a cot. Bed linen and towels are provided, allowing you to travel light.
Also enjoy our outdoor space, ideal for children and dogs. A private terrace with barbecue awaits you, as well as a 12m x 7m heated swimming pool and a large games room with entertainment for the whole family, from games consoles to beach toys.
Just a few kilometers from La Faute sur Mer beach and minutes from Luçon, our cottage offers a peaceful getaway close to area attractions.
We've thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable, including amenities for children such as a cot, high chair and games, as well as practical amenities like stair gates and plastic tableware.

Weekend Holidays: Book your 3 or 4 night holiday from October to mid-May each year. Prices on request. €660 - €2410 per week.And in addition:
The village of Lairoux is just 15km from the fantastic beaches of the southern Vendée. The area is ideal for cycling or walking the country lanes and is on the edge of the local wetlands (Marais Communal de Lairoux), where you can see many migratory birds and other local wildlife.
There is a wide selection of activities within 30 minutes of the house; such as O'Gliss, O'Fun, the Château des Aventuriers and the Cour d'Aron gardens in St Cyr en Talmondais.
Further on is the incredible Grand Parc du Puy du Fou – with its Gladiators, Vikings, Musketeers, Medieval Knights and the bird show. Not to be missed!
La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré are both popular tourist attractions, as are the Marais Poitevin canal network and ruined abbeys.
