Ilheou lake

There are many lakes in the Pyrenees but many are off-limits to dogs because they are in national parks.

With Punk, we decided to go hiking to Lake Ilheou. A 10km round trip hike with 661m of elevation gain over 5km where, of course, dogs must be kept on a leash because we are in the national park and we pass through the middle of herds of cows, sheep and horses.

Upon reaching the refuge, you'll have to turn back, as it's not permitted to walk around the lake, swim, or enter the heart of the park with your pets. However, the view is superb and definitely worth seeing. During the hike, you can let your furry friends drink and swim in the river that flows along the entire 5km trail. A fantastic hike with magnificent scenery.
