Today I'm talking to you about Toulouse, the aptly named “pink city”, located not far from my home, in the south of France in Occitania. Toulouse is above all a city rich in history, surrounded by terracotta facades which give it this pretty color. You can discover beautiful ancient monuments and tantalize your taste buds (Toulouse sausage, Cassoulet, Cachou…). What could be better than discovering this new destination with your dog? What to do in Toulouse with a dog?
I often go for walks Parc de Compans Caffarelli because it is allowed to dogs. Small flat: inside this park, there is the Japanese garden, it is magnificent but unfortunately forbidden to dogs. On the other hand, in the park, there is a canipark: it's a closed area in which you can let your dog go with your friends. This park is well known to lovers of our four legs: there are often lots of families out for a walk with their furry ones.
In my favorite places in Toulouse, there is also the prairie of filters, a pretty park which extends on the right bank of the Garonne, at the foot of the Pont Neuf. This is an opportunity to discover Toulouse via its banks and with a new point of view on its monuments.
And of course: the Place du Capitole, the heart of the city of Toulouse.

Taking public transport in Toulouse with a dog
Unfortunately dogs are prohibited on public transport in Toulouse. However, if the dog is small, it is possible that it takes transport but it must be carried in a dog backpack. Joy is not very heavy so it's ok but for owners of big dogs it's annoying..
Apart from this big black dot, I would say that Toulouse is a dog friendly city. I see a lot of people who have a dog in Toulouse. There are all breeds, of all sizes… The fact of making canisacs available all over the city, allows you not to be taken aback when doggie relieves himself….
The final word
Before leaving for Toulouse, find out about the parks authorized for dogs as well as the pedestrian routes so as not to take public transport, especially for owners of large dogs.
The best memory that comes back to me is that day when I had a coffee on the terrace of a café… The waitress fell in love with Joy. She kept caressing it and even almost walked away with it :))
