Few sites welcome dogs during visits, but some have understood the situation and readily accept our four-legged friends and their owners. Be sure to check with each tourist site regarding the maximum size allowed. Owners of small dogs will be able to visit more than others, as their canines are more easily accepted, provided they are carried.
I think one of these days I'll make a backpack for Musher and show up at one of those visits with my Labrador on my back just for a laugh… Since she'll be carried, I should be able to get home! Haha

For a perfect visit… WITH your dog
To ensure a smooth museum visit with your dog , there are a few simple rules to follow. This also applies to visiting a castle with your dog, a cave with your dog… in short, to any tourist attraction with your dog.
whether free or guided, your dog must be calm and well-behaved so as not to steal the show from the guide… the other people following the visit should barely notice your companion's presence. It should be as discreet as possible.
remember to make your dog relieve himself before the visit to avoid very embarrassing situations for you... Take a small bag to pick up if your dog can't hold himself back.
your dog must do the visit on a short leash. During the visit, you are presented with collections of objects; no question of him going to sniff them up close or even making traces of truffles on the glass behind which these objects are displayed.
In summary, if your dog is not calm and does not know how to walk properly on a leash, you will need to do some serious review of dog training before embarking on a visit.
Musher is rather calm but before visits of this kind, I always take a good walk to prevent her from arriving too full of energy in a place where I expect her to be very discreet. It's a good trick. In a museum, a castle, a cave... there are bound to be many visitors, so be careful of your dog. He won't have to say hello to everyone and especially not to his other furry friends. Maybe there will be other dogs present during your visit, this is not the place for dog encounters. Be vigilant especially if your dog is the expressive and very talkative type. It must not disturb the visit of other visitors.

Parks and gardens to visit with a dog:
The Bamboo Grove (34): a superb park with dozens of different bamboo species from all over the world. It's a place I really love. It invites you to travel in the shade of the bamboo!
Court d'Aron Floral and Tropical Park (85): Hades, an Akita Inu, visited this park with his owners and had a wonderful time. He therefore recommends it to all his friends.

Valmagne Abbey (34): A splendid abbey, listed as an Exceptional Site of Languedoc, near Pézenas, the town of Molière and antique dealers. Dogs are welcome everywhere and for all types of visits! A very dog-friendly welcome, a Qualidog-certified visit!

Fort La Latte (35): a magical place that I also love. The fort is open to visitors, but allow time to stroll along the coastal path that leads to Cap Fréhel, which is nearby. I used to go there very often when I still lived in Brittany for magical walks and delicious dives!
