In this article, I offer you a short guide to fully enjoy your next vacation in Lille with your dog. Let's go !

What to do in Lille with your dog?

What's better than sharing activities with your dog during your vacation? HAS Lille, you won't have time to get bored! Between walks in the parks, sporting activities, discovery of Old Lille, the historic center...: your dog will not have time to say W'ouf!

A little advice, don't discover Lille with your dog on the weekend of the famous Lille clearance sale. There is an incredible crowd of onlookers and it is not at all suitable for a nice walk in town with your dog.

Let's start with the city's must-see attractions that you can't miss and that you can admire with your dog. To discover the typical architecture of the city, go to the rue de la Grande-Chaussée, which is one of the oldest streets in the city, and in the mint street which takes its name from the Mint established by Louis XIV. These two streets are located in the historic center of the city and others are also worth discovering: don't hesitate to get lost a little with your dog, you will not be disappointed with your finds!

And then among the must-sees, there are necessarily: the belfry of the town hall, the Grand'Place, the Vieille Bourse, the Palais des Beaux-Arts...

If you are looking for a little greenery, the city of Lille and its surroundings are full of parks and green spaces to explore with your dog!

The best known of them: the Citadel Park. It's the green lung of the city and it's THE place to be for super nice walks with your dog in the heart of downtown Lille. Located right next to the animal park (in which your dog will not be admitted), this park offers a real breath of fresh air and will allow you to stroll peacefully around the Citadel of Lille with your dog.
You can also enjoy a nature walk near theLille aerodrome, more precisely in the city of Bondues, or in the parks of Haumont (Moves), of North (Marcq-en-Baroeul) and Leo (Wattrelos). You can also enjoy the Madeleine dog park if you want your dog to play with friends during your stay.

Finally, for a more aquatic trip, la Côte d'Opale et North Sea beaches are about an hour's drive from the city. Closer to the city center (around 30 minutes by car), you can also go for a walk at the pond in Goriaux (Wallers) to stretch your legs on the hiking trails along the water.

And I can’t finish this “activity to do with a dog” paragraph without telling you about the local specialties. Enter an estaminet and savor the good local dishes. For my part, I’m more of a “chip shack”! There, they know how to make real fries and they don't serve them to you in a Mickey tray! For the fricadelle, however, I’ll pass…
