Do you want to practice naturism with your dog in France? How do you find naturist campsites, beaches, and activities to enjoy with your dog? This article is here to help!

Do you dream of only one thing: going on holiday, lighthearted and wanting to reconnect with nature in your birthday suit? And especially with your dog as part of the adventure, there's no question of depriving him of these moments where you simply enjoy life.

I have good news for you: you can legally remove your clothes in public AND bring your dog with you! 😜 You just need to know the right places in France!

Well, although Musher is very comfortable being naked, that's not really the case for me, I must confess… I completely agree with the philosophy, but I also value my modesty 😅

So, in this article, I won't be talking about my personal experiences; a rare occurrence! But we have many dog-friendly and naturist tourism partners , certified by QUALIDOG, who make wonderful naturist holidays with your dog possible in France ! Shall we explore them together?

P.S.: For those discovering naturism through this article, a brief clarification is in order. Contrary to some preconceived notions, this practice has nothing to do with sex: it's a philosophy of life that promotes self-acceptance and acceptance of others, and the absence of judgment, particularly regarding physical appearance. Its aim is to reconnect with nature by exposing oneself to the elements, in one's most natural state: simply naked.

What are the rules for practicing naturism in France?

Although this philosophy is widespread in Germany and the Netherlands, naturism remains relatively uncommon in France. However, many beautiful nudist spots exist in our lovely country, particularly along beaches, lakes, and rivers.

What the law says ?

⚖️ French law strictly prohibits sexual exhibitionism in public places. This means that it is not permitted to undress in public, except in private settings, or where naturism is explicitly allowed.

Without a sign authorizing or even requiring nudity, it is therefore by default forbidden to be naked in public in France.

Is nudity mandatory in naturist centers?

It depends on the campsites, beaches, and activities, which each have their own rules. In order to avoid marginalizing nudity in naturist areas (which would be absurd!), it is often mandatory to be naked, but there is sometimes some tolerance.

Of course, when it's raining or 15°C, the obligation does not apply and you have the right to cover up!

More complicated but possible: finding a naturist place that accepts dogs… Fortunately, the ethics of naturism, very family-oriented and welcoming, shine through in some tourist establishments, which I will now present to you!

The formalities for going to a naturist campsite with your dog

First and foremost, please note that you will need your dog's health record , certifying that all its vaccinations are up to date, to access the establishments.

  • Si you are coming from another European countryYour dog's European passport is mandatory for crossing borders, and it must include proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination.
  • Si you are coming from a country outside EuropeThere are a few additional formalities to complete, particularly to prevent the risk of parasites. Find all the necessary information for traveling with your dog on the website of the European Commission.
