A successful holiday in the Alps this winter with your dog
Is the Alps destination recommended for spending a Trop W'ouf holiday with your dog? The answer to this question thanks to the testimonies of our Wouafer's: Eloïse and Anis our Savoyard duo, Denver and Hélène our Chamberian duo as well as Aya and Marion our Isérois duo!

It's almost Christmas holidays!! You may have planned to go to the snow with your dog? It is rather difficult to find dog friendly ski resorts…so I interviewed three Savoyards, dog lovers, who shared with me their Wow Good Tips for go to Savoy with your dog easily.
There are a lot ofdog-friendly accommodation in this region, but that's not all. There are also plenty ofactivities to do with your dog in the Alps so don't leave your dog alone in your chalet!
Eloise and Anis our Savoyard duo
Going on holiday in Savoie without your dog ? No, but Savoie not where what?! Nice pun, huh?
Let's start with the good tips that were given to me by Éloïse in Savoie Mont Blanc, a real fan of ski-joëring with her siberian husky : Anise. This Trop W'ouf sport consists of being towed on cross-country skis by your dog.
"The mountain tips with your dog are numerous in Savoie Mont Blanc. It's an amazing playground for my dog and me.
It is first of all important to find out about the limits of the national parks (Vanoise, Aiguilles Rouges) where dogs are not allowed even on a leash (as a reminder, the same is true for all French national parks).
Here are some of my favorite hikes in Savoie with his dog:
The village of Monal from where you can reach the black lake.
The seizure station which offers traced snowshoe circuits, my favorite being those towards Mont Clocher
The Peisey Nancroix station (small Nordic station at the top for a snowshoeing with your dog too) at the foot of the glaciers in a still preserved environment.
The Nordic domain of Arêche-Beaufort offers 12 km of track in total with the possibility of making smaller loops.
I also practiced ski-joëring with my dog on the Nordic area of Courchevel (free).
On the activity side, do not hesitate to practice snowshoeing in each station, routes are drawn and it is accessible with dogs"
Whaouuuu all these ideas made me want to go on vacation there for a few days with Musher. Anis is lucky to live in these beautiful landscapes! Denver and Hélène our Chambéry duo
I'm now handing over to Denver and Hélène who come straight from Chambéry in Savoie. They in turn share with us their favorite tips:
"I live in the Alps with my dog in Chambéry more precisely so I am quite quickly in the mountains. We go most often to the Bauges, Belledonne, Chartreuse: it's “near” our home. And there are dozens ofsnowshoe routes to do with your dog!
I really like it Belledonne massif with my dog, because there is no prohibition for dogs and there are magnificent places to see. The main thing is not the summit climbed, but the wonder and the pleasure that the mountain can bring us throughout a hike, to add to that the presence of your best 4-legged friend by your side this does not is only happiness! Go for it!”

Aya and Marion our duo from Isérois
Never two without three ! Here is another canine sports enthusiast that comes straight from Isère. Thanks to Marion Gervasi for all these great tips Too W'ouf that she shared with her faithful Aya, malamute cross of 2 years.
“In Savoie/Isère there is the Belledonne chain, in addition to being magnificent, it is dogs allowed throughout the massif, so that's perfect. A place that is also great with a dog is towards the col de The Iron Cross in Savoy, there are different lakes and a magnificent view of the Aiguilles dʼArves. I went there twice and I never tire of the scenery. In addition it is 2 minutes from the road.
