Caux Seine in Normandy: for holidays with your dog
Hello Wouafer's, I'm Mathilde and my dog's name is Atlas. I invite you to discover the Boucles de la Seine Normande, between Rouen and Le Havre. Here we love dogs, nature and adventure!
With Atlas, we are used to moving and enjoying the great outdoors, whether for a relaxing ride or an intense bike ride. And I can tell you that we are spoiled in Caux-Seine! There are many trails for walkers, cyclists, trailers and even horse riders! My favorite is Le Hamel au Coeur, with its panorama over the Seine valley. If your dog is athletic then go cani-cross or cani-trail like my friends, you will have a blast. For “tourist” information on site, the Caudebec-en-Caux Hiking & Trail Center will inform you around a doggie bar. Moreover, you can also rent a contactless and self-service bike there. Small dogs can enjoy a ride along the Seine in a doggy-bag, nose in the wind while the human pedals. 😉 Don't forget to book in advance to make sure you can take advantage of the dog bike basket.
And after the effort, the comfort: the park and the vaults of the tea room the Dairy at the Abbey of Valasse are our favorite for a gourmet family break. As for the visit, I recommend the Etelan Castle (1st Renaissance castle built in France!) and its peaceful park. The visit of the entire castle with the owners is dog-friendly, for all sizes kept on a leash. Then for a change of scenery, go for a walk in the forest of Brotonne, we often do it with Atlas who goes in front with a lanyard, it's really great for recharging your batteries! For riders whose dogs are used to horses, you can take beautiful rides with the equestrian center full moon.
And because a successful holiday rhymes with a good night's sleep, I suggest some QUALIDOG labeled accommodation addresses in Caux Seine Normandy where you and your dog will be well received. Between caravan, bungalow, large gite and typical Norman house, I have selected comfortable and fully equipped accommodation where you can go with your eyes closed. Same thing for restaurants where our four-legged friends will be as well received as their masters.
I hope I have shared a bit of my Normandy with you, between Seine and Sea! You can also find some valuable information for prepare your holidays with your dog on the Caux Seine Normandy Tourist Office website, there is a special dog page. If you visit us, go to the tourist office to say hello to them from me! They will be delighted to welcome you 🙂
