ANCV holiday vouchers: a help for travelling with your dog

Musher in a dog-friendly activity that accepts ANCV holiday vouchers

Holiday vouchers, offered by the National Agency for Holiday Vouchers (ANCV), are payment vouchers dedicated to holidays and leisure activities in France and the European Union. They are available in paper format (€10, €20, €25 or €50) or in digital format with Chèque-Vacances Connect, and can be used to pay for accommodation (excluding certain platforms), activities and restaurants.

These benefits are allocated through a solidarity-based scheme, with employer contributions, to help finance holidays. To benefit from them, you should contact your works council or your employer.

Using ANCV holiday vouchers makes traveling with your pet much easier, as many dog-friendly accommodations and service providers accept this payment method. ANCV vouchers are a payment method regulated by the French Tourism Code, which means a clear rule: all participating businesses must accept them for all services related to your stay, including accommodation, meals, activities, and extras. In practical terms, if a campsite accepts holiday vouchers, it should also allow you to pay the supplement for bringing your dog with them.

I invite you to discover the many QUALIDOG certified accommodations that accept ANCV holiday vouchers to pay for all or part of your stay. 👇

VACAF vouchers for a stay with my dog

If you are not eligible for holiday vouchers, discover VACAF vouchers, they too can help you reduce your holiday budget with your dog.

VACAF is a program offered by some Family Allowance Funds to help low-income families go on holiday. This financial assistance is paid directly to the approved holiday establishment, thus reducing the remaining amount to be paid. It applies to most types of accommodation, with the exception of private rentals, such as those offered on Airbnb.

Dogs and families in a VACAF partner activity

Eligible families are automatically notified by their CAF at the beginning of the year, on their “My Account” space or the mobile application.

Thanks to VACAF vouchers, a large part of your accommodation cost can be covered, significantly reducing your overall holiday budget. A real opportunity to travel as a family… with your dog!

👉 Please note: as with most tourist offers, any costs related to the presence of your dog are generally your responsibility.

But good news (again 😄): this shouldn't be a deterrent to leaving!

Campingcard ACSI: its advantages for holidays with your dog

Dogs allowed in ACSI partner campsites

The ACSI card is a discount card particularly suited to travelers who enjoy traditional camping. It allows you to get advantageous rates for stays on tent, caravan or motorhome pitches, but be aware, only in the low season!

It is valid in France as well as in many European Union countries, such as Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, the Netherlands, and Portugal. It is also valid in Switzerland and the United Kingdom. However, it only works during the off-season.

To benefit from this, simply purchase the card directly on the ACSI website or at a partner point of sale of the organization.

Traveling with your dog can be particularly advantageous with the ACSI card. The flat rate (for example, €17, €19, or €21) generally includes two adults, a pitch, electricity, one hot shower per day, and one dog, at no extra cost. To avoid paying the dog supplement yourself, the campsite must display the "dog allowed" pictogram in the ACSI guide. This guide lists all establishments participating in the ACSI program.

And if you want to go even further in saving money, other cards and devices can also complement these benefits.

Other great tips to know to save money

Several discount cards can help you reduce the cost of your holiday, but their benefits for dogs remain highly variable.

  • La ADAC Campcard can sometimes be interesting: some offers include the dog or offer periods where it is free, but this depends on the campsite.
  • La Camping Key Europe offers discounts at many campsites, but these mainly apply to the base rate (pitch and people). The dog supplement is occasionally included by establishments, but this remains a minority.
  • La Large Family Card allows you to save money on transport, but does not provide any specific benefit for animals: all costs related to your dog therefore remain your responsibility.
