I had already had the opportunity to share an article with you on the fact of go on vacation in Charente-Maritime with your dog. our Ambassa'Dog Hélène and Taïko went there in May 2018 and brought back some nice holiday memories and lots of good plans for traveling in Charente-Maritime with your dog.
This year, I therefore propose a new article to tell you about the Charente Maritime, its landscapes and everything you can do there with your dog! And for that, I am not alone today: thank you to our Wouafer's who shared with us their great stay in the region and more particularly in the city of Mathes ! Direction the wild coast at the gates of the Palmyra and Royan. We go to discover the white sand beaches of La Palmyre, Bonne Anse Bay and admire the Cordouan lighthouses and Curve.

I admit that in terms of activity, Musher is not difficult. She's up for anything, as long as it's on the land ou in water. Together, we try a lot of activities. Paddle boarding, canoeing , introduction to rescue at sea, canicross… I test as many things as possible with Musher to create great memories for us and to be able to make great ones for you articles afterwards. For walks and beaches:
La Côte Sauvage beach that have had the opportunity to visit our Ambassa'Dog Hélène and Taïko on the occasion of their adventure in Charente-Maritime is ideal for stretching your legs in the sand;
What if you boarded the Seagull Train of Saujon for a storytelling walk of the salt marshes along the tracks? ;
- Finally, if walking attracts you more then you can go and visit the Estuary Park in Saint-Georges-de-Didonne.
Sport side:
You are gliding fan with your dog, so this cani-paddle spot on the Arcachon basin will delight you! ;
A new address paddle boarding : that of SUP 17 in Les Saintes where you can practice cani-paddle easily with your dog;
- Finally, like our Ambassa'Dog Hélène and Taïko, you can try your hand at canoe kayak with your dog on the beach of Saujon.
Small point material | What does Musher put in his bag?
Not all dogs can swim and are not necessarily comfortable in the water, which is why it is better to prevent any danger by equipping it with a safety jacket specially designed for him.
As for the drying, Musher likes it when I give him a little microfiber towel on the hairs before getting back in the car! I avoid both cold snaps and slush on my seats!
Finally, if you go to the sea, also think about rinse your doggie with clean water when he comes out of the water! The salt on his hair can damage it and even create irritation on his skin.. With a shower head cap screwed onto a water bottle, you can rinse off most of the salt and sand for a comfortable return home! A little more High-Tech: the portable shower that can be plugged directly into the cigarette lighter of his car!

The adventures of Jenna, Lemon and Théa in Charente-Maritime

Our Wouafer's of the day therefore set out to conquer the Charente Maritime with their three furballs: Jenna and Lemon the team doggies and Théa, kitten found on the street. Here is what they were able to do and discover there with their dogs !
Life-size treasure hunts through all the New Aquitaine, Terra Aventura offers to walk around the four corners of each department of the region in order to find and collect badges to collect and which will be proof of your accomplished adventures. Each department offers the opportunity to discover a different heritage, that of the Charente Maritime being of course that of the sea! Congratulation to Jenna et Lemon Soda who have passed their first course, that of Fouras, and who have well deserved their badge!
Our Wouafer's were also able to test their abilities as investigators through a course of enigmas in the heart of the Usson castle. The route, which lasts about 3 hours, accept dogs as long as they are kept on a leash, and will immerse you in the center of a filibuster story by taking you to the smallest corners of the castle!

Finally, a small stop at the beach was inevitable in the region and our Wouafer's have chosen the Coubre beach to relax and stretch your legs in the sand.
A stone's throw from the beach is the Coubre forest that you can also browse and discover with your dog for cooler walks.
