I know a little about Brussels for having already been there, but at the time I was not yet sharing my life with my beautiful Musher. A few days ago I met Silvia on the Facebook page of EmmèneTonChien. She asked me if she could share addresses Too W'ouf tested with her dog. Sure!!

I took the opportunity to interview him and today I'm offering you a tour of the Belgian capital with him. Between good beer, chips and heritage, Kyo and Silvia take you to spend a pet friendly weekend or more in Belgium. Discover now the Trop W'ouf addresses where you are welcome with your dog in Brussels. Magnificent cultural capital, there are plenty of places to visit with your faithful companion. The Manneken-pis, the main square, the royal park... Don't miss a fry... uh a crumb 😀

Silvia had always dreamed of having a dog, it was a beautiful Shiba who then crossed her path… Neither one nor two, they were inseparable. It is often said that this breed of dog is stubborn, but Kyo quickly got used to his new environment and Silvia's very active lifestyle. It was at the age of 10 months that Kyo's assertive character began to be felt. Of a dominant nature, it is nonetheless an ideal companion for holidays and an ideal companion for everyday life.

What to do with your dog in Brussels?

I live exactly in Dilbeek with Kyo, it's a small town between the countryside and the city center. Going to Brussels with a dog is very simple!

There are many visits to do with your dog, you can for example stroll around Place Sainte-Catherine, go up to Place De Brouckère and then discover the Grand Place, the Halles Saint Gery (ideal for its terraces), the Mont des Arts, the Sablon district. Or the Avenue Louise district, which is very pleasant to explore, especially for shopping trips.

Around Brussels, you can go to provincial domain of Huizingen which accepts dogs, it is magnificent and very pleasant for a quiet walk, there is a magnificent park, a forest, a lake…

A magnificent 1h30 walk with your dog also awaits you at the domain of the three fountains in Vilvoorde 30 min by car from Brussels.

In Brussels itself, there is the Bois de la Cambre which is a public wood that accepts dogs but also Laerbeek wood, About 2 hours of walk in a calm, very soothing setting, there is also a bar / restaurant which accepts dogs if you want to eat.

Besides, there are plenty of restaurants that accept dogs in Brussels where I went with Kyo. Here are my favorites:

  • Bar / restaurant The Crystal Lounge

  • Le Cospaia restaurant bar

  • The Brewdog Bar/Restaurant

  • In den Appelboom

=> Musher and Sophie : “A big thank you to Kyo and Silvia for all these Trop W'ouf addresses that you have posted online on the site! If you also know of Wouafement Bien places in Brussels (or elsewhere) where dogs are accepted, let us know. Share your experience with us by just clicking here !

Getting around Brussels with your dog

Yes, the Brussels public transport accepts dogs. Some have the right to travel for free like small dogs for example because they can be held on laps and assistance dogs.

A transport ticket is necessary for the other doggies. As for large dogs, they must carry a muzzle.

Brussels, a dog-friendly city?

Insofar as it is possible to do many things at Brussels with a dog: yes for me it is a dog friendly city! All parks accept dogs, we should not ask ourselves the question. It is even possible to go to the shopping center with them like the Westland, the Docks...

Unfortunately, I see few people letting it in hand, I think people are not yet aware of all that is possible to do in Brussels with doggie. The city can be visited very quickly but around there are several woods, parks, estates,… and magnificent landscapes to discover, I am thinking in particular of the Belgian Ardennes where there are beautiful hikes to do with your dog.

I just advise to always have a cani-bag on you when you walk your dog, the police control.

Thank you very much Kyo and Silvia for introducing us to your city and sharing your addresses Too W'ouf! We are delighted to know that there is so much to do there.
