For your next stay on this part of the Opal Coast, here is a list of must-do activities to do with your dog:

• Observe seals and visit Authie Bay: Authie Bay is famous for its seal colonies. You can observe them at low tide. Be careful not to get too close so as not to disturb them.

• Walks and hikes: Many coastal and forest trails offer walks to take with your dog. The dune plain trail, a small 2,1km loop starting from the terminus car park, will take you to the Mare de l'Anse observatory. The ideal place for bird watching. The Garennes trail, 3,4 km from the Les Sternes car park, will take you to the Baie d'Authie lookout. It is one of the most beautiful views of the bay. And if you take yourself to some heights with a view of the bay: I also recommend the Allée des Roses loop (2,6km). A lovely walk under the pines. D

• Do sports activities with your dog: Berck-sur-Mer offers many sporting activities suitable for dogs along the Côte d'Opale. Among other things, you can enjoy paddle boarding, disc golf (it's like golf but with a kind of frisbee, 18-hole course in Berck) or even cycling along the Vélomaritime in the company of your dog. If you are going on vacation with your children, know that in the surrounding area, you can also enjoy the giant Corn Labyrinth in Verton, the Quend-Plage treetop adventure park and the Bagatelle amusement park in Merlimont with your dog. • Enjoy the beach : with its 12 km of fine sand, the Berck beach is huge and part of it is accessible to dogs under certain conditions. Apart from the central beach, where dogs are prohibited in July-August, they are rather welcome on the beaches of Berck-sur-Mer. A real asset for this destination! To fully enjoy the pleasures of the beach, be sure to check the tide times . The ideal time to enjoy Berck is during spring tides. It's the perfect opportunity to breathe in the fresh sea air and gather enough to make delicious platters of fresh seafood!

• Visit the Marquenterre natural park: I'm going to be disappointed here... know that the Marquenterre park is forbidden to dogs because it is located in the Nature Reserve of the same name, which is strictly forbidden to dogs.
• Go sand yachting : here again I will be disappointed because it is not really a dog-friendly activity…. but I recommend it to you! I tried it and I loved it! And the immense beach of Berck-sur-Mer is perfect for this kind of practice. It is also a paradise for kite-flying and kite-surfing enthusiasts.
