I do wonderful hikes with Kes, I just avoid national parks to avoid big fines haha 🙂 I recommend it peak of Montcalm, a very nice walk to do with your dog, but I advise you to stop at Pinet refuge if you are not a hiking pro because there are still 3000 meters of elevation to climb! Please note, dogs are not allowed inside the refuge… Only outside.
You can start from the pond of Lers from there you will find plenty of hikes, there is a small hut where you will find the plans or you can find them on this site.
From Foix, you can also climb up the Prat d'Albis road… I followed the Tour de la Barguillère trail to the Rocher de Batail where you will have a magnificent view of the snow-capped peaks. The Mountains of Tarascon and Vicdessos are also very beautiful places to go for lovely walks and hikes with your dog. There are several marked trails and paths surrounded by numerous ponds with a very beautiful view of the Ariégeois peaks!

In fact there are many things to do where dogs are welcome in Ariège.. Anyway I never had any problem with Kes… Only once a restaurant didn't want a dog but when I told them said “I eat with my dog or nothing” suddenly they let me take it and accepted that I put it in the interior garden, suddenly I was glued to the bay window haha :)”

- The Hotel de France in Pamiers ! Sonia, the owner, loves animals and is also the mistress of a pretty Malinois. It's a great address owned by humane, smiling and independent hoteliers who fight like lions to keep their hotel alive!
- The lodgings of Beille : located in the village of Les Cabanes! At the Gîtes de Beille, your dog is welcomed free of charge in a green setting of more than 4 hectares. He will be able to enjoy magnificent hikes in Ariège between lakes and mountains!
Cani-rando in Ariège

As a visit, I recommend the Montségur castle which accepts dogs on a leash, a magnificent Cathar castle steeped in history. It is a very beautiful place to visit with your dog in Ariège.
I also recommend the Mas-d'Azil cave. There is a secondary road that passes through the cave, it's magnificent! The crossing is 420m along a river. At the entrance there is a huge porch 51 meters high and 48 meters wide. You can therefore cross the cave with your dog, he will just not be allowed at the prehistoric entrance where there are guided tours.
Regarding ski resorts it's always complicated to go there with a dog for a question of safety but you can go to the resort Mont D'Olmes where you can go snowshoeing on the edge of the resort in total autonomy with a dog on a leash.
