Valérie Benaim and Buddy fell in love on a Saturday
Today, I'm very happy to introduce you to a new duo from Wouafer's: Valérie and Buddy. Besides, perhaps you already know Valérie Benaim. Valérie is a TV journalist who began her career alongside Arthur and Christophe Dechavanne in several shows on TF1. Currently, she hosts a show on C8 “It's just TV” and is a columnist in the TPMP program, Do not touch My TV, alongside Cyril Hanouna.
If I am talking to you today about Valérie Benaim on EmmèneTonChien.com it is because she has just adopted a new dog: Buddy with whom she intends to share ALL her holidays, W'ouf course! When I asked her to introduce us to her new companion, she immediately answered YES! It's a way for her to engage with us and yours, my dear Wouafer's, against abandonment. By sharing her experience with Buddy, she also proves that traveling with her dog is possible and Wow Good!
Buddy, Valerie's dog
Before any adoption, each dog passes a few tests to validate its behavior and character. Thus, when you are ready to adopt, the members of the shelter are able to advise you and offer you a dog that matches your lifestyle. Adopting a child-terrorized dog when you have 3 small children at home would be doomed. Despite all the love that the members of the shelters can bring them, being abandoned and then ending up in a shelter is ultra stressful and distressing for all living beings... so to avoid a bad adoption and a return to the shelter, the staff or volunteer will check always that the dog you have “chosen” corresponds well to your way of life. Choosing a dog is not done on its look but on its qualities and faults!
During her adoption, we were able to present to Valérie: “Buddy is a runaway dog with a complicated background. He is super nice with humans and children but manages the relationship badly with his congeners with whom he does not know how to communicate. Indeed, he was never socialized.”
When Valérie adopted Buddy, her qualities and faults were clearly presented to her so that she could take the measure of her commitment and the needs of this dog.
Adopting a dog
Valérie had wanted a dog for a long time. A few years ago, she shared her life with Willy, a black Labrador who followed her everywhere. When she left, Valérie asked herself a thousand and one questions before welcoming a new dog. Her personal and professional situation having evolved, she wanted to be sure to have all the time and energy necessary to take care of a new dog. Being the happy "mom" of a dog is happiness in its purest form, but it's also a real responsibility and a real commitment, so it took her 2-3 years to decide and cross the line. not.
And then, one Saturday morning, pushed by a mysterious force, and after dozens of conversations on the subject "dog" with his companion, they decided to go for a walk "to see" at the SPA refuge of Worth the Penil… But when one is truly in love with animals and ready, the “to see” is never very innocent…
Buddy is the first dog who came to say hello to them. Valérie fell in love right away, but her companion, who was more cautious, wanted to go around and meet other dogs. And finally, it was Buddy who was their crush! They went for a little walk in front of the shelter together to get to know each other and it was a revelation. In the process, they adopted this pretty Labrador cross. And so, one Saturday morning, this dog's life took another turn.
The first steps of his dog
For a few weeks, Buddy has thus joined and enlarged the family of Valérie Benaim. He turns out to be a super nice dog, very smart, very intelligent and who learns very very quickly.
Valérie has already contacted an educator to help Buddy feel better about himself. 2 points of progress to work on: his desire to run away and his behavior with his congeners.
Valérie's companion works independently. It is therefore more “free” to take Buddy with him everywhere. He therefore takes it as much as possible with him on dates and for the moment this duo seems to be working wonderfully. Buddy adapted very quickly. And when that's not possible, it's Valérie's son who takes over. A dog lover, he shares his life with 2 boxers at his dad's. So he quickly adopted this little new four-legged.
Is Valérie going on vacation with her dog?? What question ! Wow race! His dog is a full member of the family! At Christmas, they will leave together for a few days. On the program: long walks! And this summer, rebelote. Buddy will be part of the trip. For Valérie, going to boarding school is out of the question. She doesn't want him to feel again like a feeling of abandonment, the stress of the other dogs locked up in kennels, the anxiety of waiting for his masters… even in the most beautiful boarding house!
