Odelys and her dogs Olympe and Freyja: our Dog-Reporters
The Dog-Reporters team is growing. We welcome three new Dog-Reporters to the EmmèneTonChien.com team!!! Today, we discover Odelys and her dogs, Olympe and Freyja. This is a Picto-Charentais trio Trop W'ouf. I leave the floor to Odelys who will present the trio and their commitment to our Dog-Reporter team.
Odelys, Olympe and Freyja: a trio Too W'ouf!
Hello Wouafer's! Me, it's Odelys, I'm 25 years old. I work in the field of clinical research in Poitou-Charentes, more specifically in the Vienna. In life, I have several passions, but the first of all are animals, and especially dogs.
Ever since I was little, I wanted to be a dog's human. I actually think the word “doggie” was one of the first five words I said. My wonderful companion also shares this love for animals. It is this love that allowed us to become the humans of three furballs.
First there is Olympe, a samoyed three and a half years. Olympe is my first dog. He comes from a small family around Vichy. We have been sharing his life since he was two months old. The Samoyed is known for his beautiful smile and his marvelous coat, but we often forget that his character is strong! This is a breed reputed to be stubborn, independent and not very obedient. And yet, I fell in love with this breed and especially with Olympe. It was his character that made me fall in love, because he is quite similar to mine. Olympe, like many Samoyeds, is also a sociable and very very talkative dog (we call him 'poupou'), but also gentle, affectionate and protective. He is also very stubborn. His favorite activity is chasing deer or deer, apparently an entertaining activity.
I would say that as long as he's with me, he likes to do everything, whether it's cani-vtt, cani-rando, cani cross, cani-sledge, canoeing , walks with friends, go to the restaurant Or watch netflix on the sofa. We do a lot of things with him, and we try to take him with us as much as possible (restaurants, trips, activities...).
At the end of 2020, we added to our little family a alaskan malamute cross husky who is called Freyja also nicknamed Dino. It is a survivor of the SPA that we were looking for not far from home. From her three weeks to her three months, she only knew the SPA. Today, she is nine months old and she fills us with joy, between deceit and kisses. She is "mature" for her young age, very observant, and very calm. She is a sweet dog, but she is not yet aware of her size and weight. She talks a lot, is quite independent, but also sticky, a liberated female dog (you know the song haha) and balanced. Her favorite activity? Eating of course. Like Olympe, she also likes to do everything with us. Not long ago, we made him discover the snow in Auvergne and she liked it very much. Soon we will go to the beach, it will also be a first for her.
We also have a little cat, Kitten – aka the Mexican. If you've seen Puss in Boots, it's the spitting image of Kitten. His life boils down to purrs, cuddles and games. He does not like cats, but has a special passion for dogs, which delights us all at home
Traveling and doing activities with your dogs: our Dog-Reporters say YES!
As a travel and hiking enthusiast, my dogs follow me wherever I go! For me, it is essential to share these two passions with my loves of four-legged companions.
With Olympe, I regularly go hiking, cani-mountain biking, cani-cross. On vacation, we were able to go cani-sledding and there it was a big, but a big revelation for Olympe. He liked it a lot and me too, next try, it will be in skiing with my dog. Freyja is still a bit small! So far we have only done short hikes with her. Having very briefly tested the cani-cross with her, I can tell you that she rocks and that in the future we are going to have a lot of fun: clearly this pulling sport, it's his love.
We are also keen on travel and have already been able to travel a little with our two doggies. With Olympe, we visited the Pays Basque, Verdon region,Noirmoutier Island, island of Yeu, Bordeaux , Loire Atlantique and other regions of France. With Freyja we have been in Auvergne, more precisely in the Bourboule last January, of course Olympe was there. For me, leaving without them is not worth it.
The Dog-Reporter adventure? Obviously for Odelys and his dogs
I wanted to join the Dog-Reporters team to share all our travel tips, whether on spots to discover, accommodation, restaurants or simply activities to do with your dog.
The site Emmenetonchien.com allowed me to discover new destinations and above all showed me that it was not as complicated as that to travel around France with your animal. And certainly, when possible, I would like to visit other countries.
So I wanted to add my little stone to the building by sharing with you as much as I could our little discoveries. We already have several destinations for you to discover or rediscover.
I created an Instagram account a few years ago bearing the image of Olympe, to get advice, talk about daily life with a dog and also store lots of photos. This social network has allowed me to make fabulous encounters, to learn, to have new friendships, but also to discover wonderful places.
Today, through my Instagram page (@nordic_groogroot) I maintain beautiful friendships, I share a little bit of my daily life (not everything because it's also very good to keep a private sphere), help and advise people who come to me, and I discover more and more new places and I like to share them.
I hope you have enjoyed our profile, do not hesitate to contact me for more questions.
