Mahaut and Iota: our Dog-Reporters
This month, we welcome two new Dog-Reporters to the EmmèneTonChien.com team!!! Let me introduce you to Mahaut and Iota. This Trop W'ouf duo will tell you a bit about them. I leave the floor to Mahaut, the human of the group who will tell you more about her duo from the Loire – yes yes, that's what the inhabitants of the Pays de la Loire are called. She will also tell you about her commitment to our Dog-Reporter team. Come on, let's go, on your feet, get set, go!
Mahaut and Iota: a duo with a big heart
Hello Wouafer's, I'm Mahaut, the human in the photo! I am 31 years old and I live with all my little family, including the dog, in the Pays de la Loire in Anjou. Besides, if I join the big family of EmmèneTonChien.com in front of Dog-Reporter, at home too, my little family is growing since my dog Iota will have another little human brother or sister this winter.
With the Covid-19 health crisis, I made a professional retraining to go from hostess to life assistant. I am a big dog lover, especially big dogs, like my dog Iota who is a labrador ! Therefore, for more than a year, we have also been a foster family for dogs when the masters go away on weekends or on vacation!
With Iota, we also work with patients suffering from Alzheimer's. It's a trying mission, but animal mediation is really an activity made for Iota and me who are empathetic in nature.
Let's come to Iota then, we are here to talk dog after all! Iota is 7 years old, she is a very tender, empathetic and affectionate Labrador. Iota terribly loves water and walks, especially to make holes and eat small field mice.
Iota came into my life back when dog ads were allowed. Yes, I have, let's say, saved her from the right corner. When I met her at the vendors, I was shocked by the conditions in which she lived. I arrived in the house and there was only a square of garden the size of a bathroom… The poor thing had scratched the entire bay window up to my head height… by dint of jumping like a kangaroo. She probably had to be left all day without going out. Our meeting with Iota is unfortunately not an isolated case and other humans have met their dog in conditions unsuitable for the proper development of the animal!
During my visit to his first family, I also noticed that there was a small human baby. That's when I saw how maternal and protective Iota was: a cream. Inevitably, I was then without fear at the birth of my first child.
My dog is my joy, she is really very special! I had detected from the start that this dog had something more: an empathy such that, when you suffer, she lies down on you to show you how much she is there with you and that you are not alone! Both of us evolve in total osmosis, we do activities together on a daily basis. For example, we walk and run at the same pace in harnesses.
As a self-respecting Wouafer's, Iota of course comes on every holiday. We notably went to the south of France and to the west coast. We tried the boat in Vendée, it was Too W'ouf.
The Dog-Reporter adventure? A decision motivated by Mahaut's love for Iota and other dogs!
On the Emmènetonchien.com website, I discovered lots of advice and new places to go with my Iota and the rest of my little family.
I wanted to join the Dog-reporter program to make society aware of holidays with a dog. By recounting my dog-friendly experiences and sharing the adventures of those around me, I want to expand the map of places open to dogs. On a daily basis, I already write down the places where I go with my dog, such as when I go to a restaurant, for example. I would like this to help the other masters and family because having a dog should in no way be an obstacle to the holidays.
Musher and sophie: Besides, any Wouafer's can add its Too W'ouf Addresses on the site. Simply create your Wouafer's account for free and click on “share an address" at the top of the page. Get started, do like Mahaut!
