I had already told you about dog pools in France. Today, we're staying in Europe and traveling a bit! In Spain, Italy and Belgium, there are water parks specially designed for our furry friends. Put on your swimsuit and discover these pools that are allowed for dogs!

Water park for dogs: precautions to take

As you can see, I'm super excited to introduce you to these dog water parks in Europe! But before jumping in, you first need to take some precautions.

First and foremost, a practical precaution: your dog must be up-to-date on its vaccinations and in good health . Dog water parks are places where diseases can easily spread, even though they adhere to strict hygiene measures. For the health of your dog, other dogs, and the people in the park, it's best to have its vaccination record up to date. Some water parks will require it.

And then, of course, one of the first questions to ask yourself is: does my dog ​​like water? If you're going to a dog water park, it's primarily to have fun together. The goal is for your dog to enjoy it as much as you do! If he hates water, there's no point in forcing him. Not all dogs love swimming, and you'll find plenty of other activities to share with him!

If, on the other hand, he's afraid but still curious, try going to the water park when it's not crowded , or to a swimming pool where you'll be alone for a while. Let him take his time, so that he eventually enjoys going in the water without being forced.

One last piece of advice: some dogs get extremely excited when they run in the water . They can then lose control of their movements and their jaws. The risk is that they might injure themselves, or accidentally injure someone else. If your furry friend tends to lose their temper like Musher did in his younger days, come during off-peak hours, or keep a very close eye on them so you can call them back if things start to get out of hand.

Indeed, Musher had a tendency to lose her marbles when we went to the beach. She ran at full speed without stopping and without looking where she was going. She even knocked someone over! The person was hurt right away, because a 32 kg labrador coming at your legs, you can feel it! Fortunately, more fear than harm, she didn't have anything too bad. However, it could have been a child and the consequences could have been more serious. That's why I'm warning you, think about it 😉

Without a doubt, Spain has the best water parks for dogs in Europe . The facilities are truly optimized so your dog has a blast and you both have a super-puppy-tastic time together. Plus, they've thought of the humans too: restaurants and bars are often included! Okay, I won't say any more and I'll let you discover them for yourselves 😉

The Canino water park

Just a 30-minute drive from Barcelona, ​​this dog water park is a real treat! Two lakes, oases, water jets, sand dunes, vast green spaces… A true paradise for dogs, where you can even take a dip! A large lake is designed for those comfortable in the water , with a gentle slope, a large deeper area, and a jumping platform. The smaller lake serves as a paddling pool for pups who are new to swimming, at their own pace. Restaurants and a bar are also on site, so you can grab a bite to eat while your dog has fun with its friends. What more could you ask for? This water park, called Aquapark Canino, is open during peak season from April.

The Trust Resort Canino dog water park

They've gone all out at the Trust Resort Canino water park , an hour south of Valencia. A 1000 m² dog pool , water slides, waterfalls, water jets… The pool reaches a maximum depth of 70 meters, but your pet can descend at its own pace thanks to the gentle slope of the floor. Dogs must be up-to-date on their vaccinations and in good health to enter. A bar is available for refreshments at the water park. The center also offers dog boarding, allowing you to leave your dog to play in the water with its friends while you visit places where dogs aren't allowed, for example!

The Gos Aventura dog resort

Still in the Valencian Community, but this time an hour north of Valencia, lies Gos Aventura Park . Originally a dog boarding kennel, it has since expanded to include a grooming salon, a dog training school, and, most importantly for us, a large swimming pool for dogs ! This pool is open to the public in the summer and reserved for boarding dogs the rest of the year. Human swimming is also permitted, but priority is, of course, given to our canine friends. If you're feeling peckish, a food truck offers a variety of options.

Dog water parks in Italy

In Italy , the dog water parks I've chosen to present truly bring together humans and dogs for a great time. Two gems in the boot of Europe to discover!

The Doggy Splash dog water park

The Doggy Splash center in Turin, near the French border, offers personalized support for fun in the pool with your pet . Think of it as a super fun one-on-one lesson: you can swim freely with your dog, but also try out water obstacle courses and teach them to dive. A real plus for timid dogs or those who don't get along with other dogs! In addition to the pool, the center also offers canine osteopathy sessions and proprioception classes. Everything you need for a 100% wellness day for your furry friend, so they feel great inside and out!

The Green Dog Club: lake reserved for dogs

I have to admit, this is my absolute favorite. A gigantic lake reserved for dogs , and what's more, it's surrounded by nature. In fact, it's in a protected area! Just 45 minutes from Milan, this lake, maintained by a dog club, allows you to swim with your dog , but also to take canine swimming and rescue lessons, go canoeing, paddleboarding with your dog… There's also an indoor pool open to dogs in winter. In short, pure bliss for enjoying a holiday together! To access the lake and activities, you'll need to be a member of the club, using a card available upon arrival. On-site, there's also a small bar, a dog shower, and paths for walking around the lake.

Musher and I took water rescue courses for a few years. She was incredibly good at it and loved it! I'd be curious to know how this discipline is taught in Italy. Since Italy is almost entirely surrounded by sea, there must be tons of rescue dogs!

A water park for dogs in Belgium

Most canine aquatic centers have a therapeutic goal: rehabilitation, muscle strengthening, proprioception, etc. In Belgium, I only found one water park for dogs. However, it looks so cool and offers lots of activities! Let me introduce you to it 😀

The Aqua-dog water park

Just half an hour from Liège in Belgium, the Aqua-dog water park offers a leisure pool for dogs. The program includes water familiarization, water games, canine aquagym, and balancing on a floating mat—activities that will strengthen your bond with your pet while providing physical and mental stimulation. This water park also offers play areas and canine physiotherapy, osteopathy, and sometimes massage sessions.
