Water parks for dogs
Whether you have a Labrador like me or a dog who loves water, you can enjoy a super fun activity in a dog pool. Swimming is a great way to exercise and relax. It's ideal for all dogs: young, old, overweight, sick, or disabled. They'll improve their muscles and circulation to stay or regain good health. However, if your dog has health problems, be accompanied by a professional, as they could also get injured!
Although not very common at the moment, these swimming pools are specially designed to accommodate dogs, but also for you to have a good time with him. As you can imagine, these dog centers are in high demand, so remember to reserve your place 😇
Swimming pools and equipment for dogs are adapted to them : a non-slip floor, a ramp or stairs for access to the pool, floating toys, non-chemical water treatment… Your dog can therefore have fun while remaining safe!
Dog pools adhere to stricter hygiene and safety standards than those for humans. In fact, for this reason, some are off-limits to anyone who isn't a staff member.
In this article, I'll introduce you to dog pools designed to let you and your dog have fun and exercise together . Some also offer hydrotherapy and other treatments, but since health isn't our specialty at EmmèneTonChien.com, I won't go into detail about that here 😉
Dog swimming pools in France
At the moment, there are few real water parks specially designed for dogs in France. However, the swimming pools reserved for dogs presented just after are worth it, and also offer other additional activities. You can have fun with your dog in lots of different ways all in one place! We bet that once you enter, you won't want to leave?
QUALIDOG-certified leisure complex for dogs: the Doogo Club
If you're visiting Alsace, you absolutely must make time for a visit to the Doogo Club with your dog. This leisure complex, specially designed for dogs, features a dog pool and an area for learning and practicing cani-paddleboarding. The latter is only open during the summer.
Other dog activities await you, such as a ball pit, an agility course, tracking, and dog training.
The Doogo Club also offers boarding facilities, so your dog can enjoy these spaces (under W'ouf Course supervision) while you are elsewhere.
What's more: this dog water park has the QUALIDOG label ! This guarantees a top-notch welcome for you and your dog 😉
I honestly think we could easily spend several days there with Musher without getting bored. Between the pool where she can jump and swim as she pleases, all the scent games they offer, and the paddleboarding we love doing together… we'd leave with our heads full of wonderful memories! By the way, if you'd like to try paddleboarding with your dog, we explain everything about it in a dedicated article!
QUALIDOG certified dog leisure center: O'Caneo
If you live in Valence or are spending your holidays there with your dog, you're in luck! The O'caneo canine centre , also QUALIDOG certified, is opening its doors to you! Your dog can jump in the large swimming pool all summer long.
The O'caneo center also organizes activities throughout the year such as treibball, agility, water rescue, cani-paddleboarding, dog-dancing, and many others. You're sure to find an activity that will appeal to both you and your dog!
You can also treat your dog to a spa, fitness, or osteopathy session. After the sport, comes comfort!
Just remember to book to participate in the sessions and courses 😉
The Sens Dog Pool, QUALIDOG certified
A new dog pool in Burgundy, near Sens, in the Yonne department! You have a choice of two options to cool your dog off:
- la individual sessionwhere you can go to the water with your dog to play with him
- la Friends sessionwhere several dogs can bathe at the same time and enjoy themselves together.
The pool is secured so that all dogs feel comfortable: puppies, small or large dogs, seniors and even disabled dogs.
The dog pool in Sens is open from March to November . You'll benefit from the advice of a professional trainer to exercise your dog in a fun way and, above all, without risk of injury.
Other clubs in France offer dog swimming pools. These are not QUALIDOG certified.
Located less than an hour from Toulouse, this canine wellness center offers a swimming pool and a jacuzzi for dogs ! The outdoor pool is 1,30 meters deep, so humans can stand comfortably in the water. You can enjoy the pool and jacuzzi with your dog during the warmer months, starting in April. You can even receive coaching to help your dog gain confidence and strengthen your bond. A true spa for dogs , this center also offers hydrotherapy sessions, osteopathy, and seaweed treatments for your canine companion!
Head to Nouvelle-Aquitaine for a canine water park just 10 minutes from Bordeaux ! The Mouille tes pattes center in Mérignac offers a dog pool with a gentle slope. All the necessary accessories are provided: life jackets, towels, bathrobes, toys, etc. Humans are not allowed in the pool, but you can stay by to cheer on and play with your dog. You can wash your dog before or after swimming in a dedicated room equipped with all the necessary supplies and natural products. Other areas include a gym, obstacle courses, and sensory activities. And the good news: dogs classified as dangerous breeds are welcome!
Municipal swimming pools organizing special dog days in France
It's quite rare, but some municipal swimming pools open their doors to dogs just before they're drained . For a day or two, dogs are allowed to accompany their humans for a swim. A fantastic initiative that we hope to see spread throughout France and elsewhere!
The municipal swimming pool in Freyming-Merlebach, Moselle, came up with this solution in 2021 to satisfy dog owners. Since then, the pools in Neubourg and Colfontaine have repeated this initiative in December 2023.
Every year, French municipal swimming pools must be drained and thoroughly cleaned. Therefore, in terms of hygiene, reserving the pools for dogs is not a problem , even though the equipment is not specifically designed for them.
Municipal swimming pools are usually drained at the end of the year. If you're going with your dog, remember to bring a microfiber towel to dry them thoroughly , and something to keep them warm when you get out if it's cold. Dogs can also get sick from getting chilled, so this will reduce the risks 😉

Hello, no more swimming pool in Grenoble. When it's hot. What you're doing for my four-legged friend is great.
Well done and thanks for the good tips
My dog is 10 and a half years old. He is a German Shepherd. He has hip problems with osteoarthritis, I think the pool could do him good. I want to see him happy for another 1-2 years. I love my dog.
